have difficulty V-ing |用豐富例句學做某事有困難英文!

have difficulty V-ing  意思是「做…有困難」。在生活中，我們偶爾會遇到有困難的或有障礙的事情，例如背單字有困難、保持運動習慣有困難、找工作有困難等等，要怎麼表達呢？很簡單，可以用 have difficulty V-ing 的句型，共有四種用法：have trouble/difficulty/problems/a hard time + V-ing

注意，在這用法中，trouble是不可數名詞，difficulty取其當不可數[U]的用法，problems依據不同意思用單或複數形，a hard time用單數形，最後記得後面加動詞V-ing。

have difficulty V-ing /have trouble V-ing：

  1. 在這句型中，trouble和difficulty屬於不可數名詞，不加-s也不與a連用。
  2. 用V-ing是因為省略介系詞in。
  3. 如果是強調「經歷過困難，也可以用experience difficulty+V-ing。
  4. 可與no, little, some, great連用，表示程度的差別。

 

The boy sounded so nervous that he had trouble making himself understood.

(這個男孩聽起來很緊張，以至於他難以讓自己被理解。)

→ have trouble + V-ing表示做某事有困難

 

Alice has such a poor memory that she has difficulty memorizing 10 words a day.

(Alice的記憶力不好，以至於她很難每天背 10 個單字。)

→ have difficulty + V-ing表示做某事有困難

 

The old man has great difficulty taking care of himself.

(這老先生很難照顧自己。)

→ have great difficulty + (in) V-ing表示做某事很有困難

 

After the car accident, Nicolas has trouble (in) remembering telephone numbers.

The students had difficulty pronouncing the complicated scientific terms.

→ have trouble + (in) V-ing

 have a problem/problems+V-ing：

  1. 在這句型中，使用單數形a problem時表示遇到單一次問題，使用複數形problems時表示常常遇到的困難。
  2. 用V-ing是因為省略了介系詞in。
  3. 如果有明確的名詞，也可以用with + N代替V-ing的部分。

 

When Mr. Chen noticed that Ray had a problem pronouncing the word, he repeated it.

(當陳老師注意到Ray在這個詞的發音上有困難時，他重複了一遍。)

→ When Mr. Chen noticed that Ray had a problem with the pronunciation of the word, he repeated it.

 

The student is poor at math. He always has problems solving math questions.

(這個學生數學不好。他總是在解決數學問題有困難。)

→ 使用複數形problems

 

Mary is having problems adjusting to the new school environment.

(瑪麗在適應新的學校環境方面有問題。)

→ 使用複數形problems

 

This student has a problem understanding the math questions.

  1. 在這句型中，通常使用單數形a hard time。
