比較級用法 可以表示二個對象「程度」的差異，因此用形容詞和副詞來形成比較級。

使用比較級時，要注意句型、比較級形容詞與副詞的型、和比較的對象必須有相同的基準。精準使用比較級可以讓敘述更鮮明、更貼切，也可以用比較級的句型表示最高級，有搭配 any other、all the other用法，也有搭配 no other的用法。

比較級用法 1：形成

  1. 比較級的基本句型是A + V + 比較級 + than + B.
  2. 比較級的用法可分為形容詞比較級與副詞比較級。
  3. 比較級的形成法可分為單音節、雙音節、多音節。

1.單音節的形容詞與副詞：加-er

  1. 直接在句尾加-er。
  2. 如果字尾已經有-e，加-r即可。
  3. 字尾如果是「子音＋短母音＋子音」的組合，先重複字尾再加-er。

2.雙音節的形容詞與副詞：去-y加-ier或加more

  1. 雙音節的形容詞或副詞如果是「子音＋-y」結尾，去-y再加-ier。
  2. 除了第一種條件外的雙音節形容詞或副詞在字前加more。

1.形容詞：A+be+adj-er/more adj+than+B

Aaron is taller than his sister.

(Aaron比他姐姐高。)

→ taller than比較高

 

The dictionary is thicker than the storybook.

(字典比故事書厚。)

→ thicker than比較厚

 

The boy is more intelligent than his classmates.

( 這個男孩比他的同學更聰明。 )

→ more intelligent than比較厚

 

2.副詞：A+V+adv-er/more adv+than+B

A rabbit runs faster than a turtle.

(兔子跑得比烏龜還快。)

→ fast是副詞

 

Grandma rises up earlier than all of us.

(奶奶起得比我們都早。)

→ early是副詞

 

Mia works more efficiently than Tiffany.

(Mia工作效率比Tiffany 高。)

→ efficiently是副詞
